Chrisa & Femi Faniku
Aluxe Founders
We’re Chrisa and Femi Faniku, a couple of 17 years, and we’re thrilled to share our journey with you. Our brand, Aluxe, is a reflection of our unique cultural backgrounds and personal experiences. We employ our expertise as an R&D Scientist (Chrisa) and as a nurse (Femi) toward product development and holistic health, respectively, to craft organic, handmade products that emphasize quality and sustainability. One of us (Chrisa) is Greek, born in Germany while the other (Femi) is Nigerian, born in London, and we currently reside in California.
Our Ethos
The name Aluxe embodies our core values of love (Agape in Greek – the “A” in Aluxe), light (Lux in Latin), and hope (Elpida in Greek – the “E” in Aluxe), which we infuse into every product we create.
Our passion, energy, and resiliency as a couple of 17 years is channeled into Aluxe. Over the years, we’ve faced challenges with infertility, but this hasn't dimmed our light nor our love. With resolute resolve, we proceed to thrive and seek growth. As we prepare to adopt our first child from Colombia, Zamara, whom some of our products are named after, our evolving family story continues to inspire us, ensuring that Aluxe remains a true reflection of our dedication, commitment, and journey through life.
Our Story
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the widespread concern around infectious microbes inspired us to start crafting homemade soaps suitable for all skin types. What began as a personal project quickly grew into a passion, leading us to expand into a range of creative products sold on Etsy. As our products gained popularity, we knew it was time to establish a brand that truly represents our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
At Aluxe, we believe that making our products personal and customizable is essential. Our love for travel and producing memorable moments is infused into our work, delivering a creative aspect to our labor of love. We’re passionate about our craft and dedicated to asking the fundamental questions about what goes into our products. Unlike many store-bought soaps, which often contain synthetic detergents and petroleum distillates, our soaps are made using traditional methods with a base of lye, fats, and water. We prioritize ingredients that are preservative-free, vegan, certified kosher, glycerin-based, and vegetable-based. Through this approach, we ensure that every Aluxe product is a reflection of our values and our dedication to delivering a truly meaningful experience.

Once free of packaging, products should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight and excess heat. Air tight containers or glass jars are excellent options for storing most items. If you use the product in the shower or bath, drain and dry adequately before storing it.
